Dear ºûµûÖ±²¥-Brightwaters Community,

On March 7, 2024, Newsday published an online article regarding a former employee of the ºûµûÖ±²¥ School ºûµûÖ±²¥ and allegations made against him under the Child Victims Act.  As we have previously shared with the community, this former staff member has not been employed by the ºûµûÖ±²¥ since 2000. Due to pending and ongoing litigation, we are still unable to specifically address any of today’s reporting by Newsday

The ºûµûÖ±²¥ takes allegations of abuse seriously and remains fully committed to the health, safety, and well-being of all students. While we recognize and understand the frustration the community may experience due to our ongoing inability to discuss the specific details of this matter publicly, we want to assure all residents of the ºûµûÖ±²¥-Brightwaters community that every child in the ºûµûÖ±²¥ is safe and cared for while under our supervision. To help ensure a safe learning environment for our student body, the ºûµûÖ±²¥ proactively complies with Board of Education policy and applicable law.

By continuing to draw on the bond between the ºûµûÖ±²¥-Brightwaters community and our schools, I am confident that we will continue to grow stronger together. As always, thank you for your support of our students and Bay Shore Schools.

Sincerely,

My Image File
