Dear ºûµûÖ±²¥-Brightwaters Community,
At last night’s Board of Education Public Session, Board President Jennifer Brownyard shared with the community that one claim brought under the Child Victims Act has been settled by our insurance carrier. This settlement is subject to a confidentiality agreement and will be paid directly by the insurance carrier. For this particular claim, the insurance company settlement does not require Board of Education action. Although this particular case was resolved with insurance funds, the majority of the other Child Victims Act cases against the ºûµûÖ±²¥ are not covered by insurance. We felt that it was important to share that a settlement had been reached on the above-referenced claim.
